6. Detach the Ferry head screws holding the port end cover.
7. Lightly tap the port end cover with a soft hammer to detach it from the gear housing.
8. Remove the wear plate found either in the gear housing or the port end cover.
9. Extract the backup gasket, seal, and the quad ring from the port end cover.
10. Finally, remove the bushings from both the port and drive end covers as required.
