- Lightly tap the port end cover with a soft hammer to detach it from the gear housing.
- Remove the wear plate found either in the gear housing or the port end cover.
- Extract the backup gasket, seal, and the quad ring from the port end cover.
- Finally, remove the bushings from both the port and drive end covers as required.
