Manual Extract: Engine Cooling System Removal
Follow these steps to safely remove the engine cooling system from your machine:
- Review the Engine Cooling System – Exploded View for reference on the cooling pack (10.400).
- Park the machine on a level surface to ensure stability.
- Switch off the engine and apply the parking brake for safety.
- Position a container of suitable capacity beneath the cooling pack to catch the drained coolant.
- Loosen the drain nut and proceed to drain the coolant completely.
- Detach the upper and lower hoses of the radiator, making sure to cover the hose openings to prevent debris entry.
- Disconnect the hose (15) from the coolant reservoir, covering the openings for protection.
- Remove connections to the after-cooler, again covering the openings.
- Take off the deflector plates located at the sides (4), (8).
- Attach a suitable lifting device to the cooling pack to facilitate removal.
- Loosen and remove the upper mounting bolts first, followed by the lower mounting bolts.
- Using the lifting device, carefully lift the cooling pack away from the machine, ensuring no components are damaged.
