Manual Extract: Adjust and Balance Brakes

Procedure

1. Ensure that all air is removed from the hydraulic brake system.
2. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir and top up if necessary.
3. Place the tractor on level ground.
4. With the rear wheels attached, jack up the rear of the tractor and place it on axle stands, ensuring the wheels are clear of the ground.
5. Slacken off the parking brake cable on the right-hand side of the tractor.
6. With an assistant, rotate one of the wheels slowly and tighten the adjuster nut until the wheel just locks. Always rotate the wheel forwards.
7. Adjust the brake expander clearance by unscrewing the adjuster nut a specified number of flats, according to the number of friction plates fitted to one side of the axle. Refer to the table in the manual.
8. Repeat the operation on the left-hand side of the tractor.
