Manual Extract: Differential Assembly
Prior to beginning operations, ensure that the differential is assembled by referring to the guide numbered Differential – Assemble (25.102).
Assembly Instructions
- Clean and degrease the mating surfaces, then apply a bead of gasket sealer approximately 2 mm wide along the indicated areas. Note: Installing new seals is recommended to prevent leaks post-assembly.
- Attach a suitable lifting eye bolt to the pinion shaft and secure it with appropriate lifting equipment.
- Carefully install the differential into the axle housing, ensuring the two locating dowels are correctly positioned.
- Secure the differential housing bolts and tighten them to 137 Nm (101 lb ft).
- Use lifting equipment to reposition the front axle onto the axle stands.
