The warning buzzer sounds an alert when the engine is stopped with the key in the RUN position, or while the engine is running but the oil pressure is low. Troubleshooting Steps

1. Ensure the engine is stopped. Locate the connection point where the jumper wire for the engine oil pressure switch attaches to the main wiring harness. Disconnect the jumper wire.

   • Connect one ohmmeter lead to the jumper wire’s end and the other to a clean, bare metal ground point on the engine.
   • The ohmmeter should read zero. If not, inspect and repair the jumper wire or switch as needed.

2. If the ohmmeter reads zero, remove the seat and heat shield assembly.

   • Turn the key switch to the RUN position without starting the engine.
   • Use a voltmeter to check for system voltage at the key switch terminal connected to the warning buzzer.
   • If voltage is incorrect, replace the key switch.

3. If voltage is correct, proceed to the next connection point (see Figure 5) at the top of the warning buzzer.

   • Ensure the key switch remains in the RUN position.
   • Verify system voltage at the buzzer’s connection point with a voltmeter.
   • If voltage is incorrect, replace the warning buzzer. Otherwise, check for continuity issues in the jumper wire or main wiring harness and repair as needed.
