Manual Extract: Understanding the Friction Plate
When the engine operates at low oil pressure during idle, the low RPM pressure switch activates, connecting to the ground. This results in a ground signal being sent to PIN 10, triggering the following actions:
- The engine oil service monitor lights up.
- An alarm sounds intermittently.
- The green “Systems Normal” indicator turns off.
- If an automatic shutdown feature is available, the tractor will power down after 30 seconds.
Similarly, when engine oil pressure is low at 1800 RPM or above, the high RPM pressure switch closes to ground, signaling PIN 2. This triggers similar warnings if engine RPM is 1800 or higher. Should the RPM fall below 1800, the high RPM pressure switch closure does not result in any alerts.
