Manual Extract: Removing the Engine
Follow these steps to safely remove the engine:
- Disconnect the battery leads.
- Remove the engine cover, left and right bumpers, and the bulkhead access plate (see sub-section 8.2.2).
- Detach the engine throttle cable from the engine.
- Disconnect the engine ground cable.
- Drain the engine coolant.
- Remove the radiator (see sub-section 2.2.9).
- Disconnect the radiator’s top and bottom hoses, as well as heater hoses at the engine.
- Disconnect and blank off the fuel feed and return lines.
- Remove the main hydraulic pump (see sub-section 10.2.8).
- Note: Ensure to identify all electrical wiring to aid in re-connection.
- Disconnect all engine electrical wiring.
- Detach the exhaust pipe at the manifold and the silencer at the bracket, then remove the exhaust system.
