Usage Recommendations
Manual Extract: Parking brake or parking lock installation for 300 and 400 series axles.
- Place the park brake onto the front cover. Secure using mounting bolts and washers; tighten to 234 – 269 Nu00b7m (173 – 198 lb ft).
- If retaining the original yoke and pinion shaft, install the original shims. For replacements, shim as needed to achieve a 0.076 – 0.127 mm (0.003 – 0.005 in) gap between the pinion shaft end and yoke retaining washer. Torque the bolt to 378 – 678 Nu00b7m (279 – 500 lb ft).
- Install the tee and reconnect both lines.
- Pull the drive shaft and pillow block to the rear; install bolts to the yoke using LOCTITEu00ae 242 on threads. Torque to 115 – 129 Nu00b7m (85 – 95 lb ft).
- Install the pillow block with two bolts, washers, and nuts. Torque to 271 – 298 Nu00b7m (200 – 220 lb ft). Ensure the pillow block is mounted in its original frame position with flint washers on top.
