Brake Relief Valve Pressure Test

Follow these steps to accurately perform a brake relief valve pressure test:

1. Lower the bucket to the floor.
2. Apply the parking brake and stop the engine.
3. Connect the vacuum pump to the hydraulic reservoir and start the vacuum pump.
4. Disconnect the hose from the fitting in the brake section of the hydraulic pump.
5. Connect the tee fitting to the fitting in the brake section of the hydraulic pump.
6. Connect the hose to the tee fitting.
7. Connect the pressure gauge to the tee fitting.
8. Stop the vacuum pump.
9. Start and run the engine at full throttle, ensuring the oil reaches operating temperature.
10. Push down on a brake pedal as far as possible.
11. Read the pressure gauge. The pressure should be between 1650 and 1750 psi (11,377 to 12,066 kPa, 113.8 to 120.7 bar).
12. If the pressure is not within this range, adjust the brake relief valve accordingly.
