Manual Extract: Oil Filter
The oil filter is a critical component that utilizes a full-flow, integral paper cartridge type. It is strategically installed on the pump delivery line to maintain engine lubrication.
Key Features:
- Full-flow integral paper cartridge design
- Safety valve to ensure engine lubrication in case of clogging
Benefits:
- Ensures consistent engine lubrication
- Prevents engine damage from clogged filters
Usage Recommendations:
- Replace the cartridge every 400 operating hours.
- Oil the outer seal part in contact with the crankcase mounting.
- Screw on the new cartridge until the seal is against the mounting; then tighten by hand an additional 3/4 turn.
Low Oil Indicator
The low oil indicator consists of a control switch and a red warning lamp on the dashboard, providing critical alerts under the following circumstances:
- Low oil pressure (normal condition indicator when the engine is hot and idling)
- Malfunction of the control switch
Troubleshooting Tips:
If the red lamp does not illuminate when the engine is off and the ignition is on, consider these potential issues:
- Check for a blown fuse.
- Inspect the warning lamp for damage.
- Examine for interruptions in the wire to the control switch.
