Manual Extract: Compaction Front Drum – Installation Procedure
Important Note: For detailed component identification, please refer to the Compaction Front Drum – Component Identification (44.160).
Installation Steps:
- Place the frame on suitable supports on both sides.
- Utilize appropriate lifting equipment to hang and lift the drum, then mount it into the frame without allowing it to bump into the frame.
- Ensure a gap of 22.0 u2013 26.0 mm (0.9 u2013 1.0 in) between the frame and the drum on both sides.
- Screw the bracket on the right side to the frame. If necessary, use shims to ensure a secure fit.
- Loosen the bolts on the left side of the drum.
- Attach the weight to the frame and retighten it with the bolts.
- Using a square, measure the distance between the drum and frame near multiple joints (refer to figure 6) to confirm the drum is axially centered.
- Carefully lift the drum and remove the supports.
Usage Recommendations
- Regularly check the alignment and gap between the drum and frame to ensure optimal performance.
- Use only specified lifting equipment to avoid damage or injury.
- Consult the detailed component identification guide for part-specific information.
