MT265, MT285 Manual Extract
PTO Clutch
The Power Take-Off (PTO) is engaged through a wet multi-disc, hydraulically operated clutch pack. To operate the PTO, ensure the mechanical PTO lever on the left-hand side of the tractor is engaged and the console switch is turned to the “ON” position. When activated, the PTO valve energizes, applying oil pressure to clamp the discs within the PTO clutch pack, allowing the PTO shaft to rotate.
Oil Supply to PTO Clutch Pack
Oil is routed from the main hydraulic pump to a reducing valve, which divides the flow into primary and secondary circuits. The secondary circuit provides oil pressure necessary for the PTO clutch pack’s operation. For more details on the reducing valve functions, refer to the HYDRAULIC section.
n FIG. 5A-11: Oil pressure to the PTO clutch pack can be verified using an adaptor fitting from tool kit ATP3031 and a pressure gauge. The test port for the PTO clutch is located on the left-hand side of the tractor, below the PTO solenoid valve.
