Checking VHT Neutral Spring

1. Park the vehicle on a flat surface.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Move the range gear shift lever to the NEUTRAL position.
4. Lock the hydraulic lift cylinder lever in the NEUTRAL position using the restricting plate.
5. Start the engine.
6. Ensure the engine returns to idle speed immediately after releasing the speed control pedal, after several operations.

• Do not touch the muffler or exhaust pipes when hot; severe burns may result.

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and then promptly shut it off.
3. Ensure there is no clearance between the rod and link, and verify the rod length appears to be 21.5 mm (0.85 in).
