Safety Precautions: Hydraulic Circuits
Ensure safety while working on hydraulic circuits by adhering to the following precautions:
- Depressurize hydraulic circuits before removal to prevent serious skin injuries from leaking oil.
- Label all parts, hoses, and pipes prior to disassembly.
- Avoid operating hydroelectric generators or motors without oil.
- Be cautious of scalding hazards when handling hot oil.
- Never heat oil above 160u00b0C (320u00b0F) to prevent risk of ignition from oil or vapors.
- Use lint-free cloths for wiping and cleaning hydraulic components.
- Apply hydraulic oil, rather than lubrication grease, during parts installation.
- Ensure bolts are clean before installation; flush and blow out hoses and pipes with air.
- Always use new gaskets during reassembly.
- After replacing hydraulic sets, flush the circuit and clean the hydraulic tank.
- Replace the oil filter element following work completion.
- Fill the hydraulic circuit with clean oil of the specified viscosity only when the engine is switched off.
- Clean up any spilled oil promptly.
- Verify that all connections are tight and free of leaks before pressurizing the system.
- Check all connections thoroughly upon completing the work.
- Avoid adjusting the relief valves unless necessary.
- Reinstall all protective components once work is finished.
