Cylinder Head and Valve Train Components
The cylinder head is a critical component, integrating the valve assemblies, rocker arms, rocker shaft, push rods, lifters, and pre-combustion chambers. The air intake manifold is incorporated into the left-hand side of the valve cover assembly, while the exhaust manifold is affixed to the left-hand side of the cylinder head. These cylinder heads feature integral valve guides and utilize only standard size valves.
A pre-combustion chamber situated between the injector assembly and the cylinder’s combustion chamber plays a key role in early fuel ignition, enhancing start-up performance. Additionally, a glow plug extending into the pre-combustion chamber, when activated, pre-heats the fuel-air mixture, which significantly improves fuel ignition in cold weather.
