Manual Extract: Brake Pedal Maximum Travel Adjustment

Step 1:
Depress the right-hand (RH) brake pedal with no more than 50 Newtons (11 pounds) of force until the valve spool stops. Loosen the lock nut and adjust the stop bolt until it just contacts the pedal, then tighten the bolt one additional turn. Secure the adjustment by tightening the lock nut.

Important: Excessive force can damage the brake valve. Avoid bottoming out the valve spool.

Step 2:
Measure and record the distance from the top of the brake valve assembly to the bottom of the yoke. Have an assistant hold down the RH brake pedal, then repeat the measurement. The difference (spool travel) should not exceed 36.8 mm (1.45 inches). If it exceeds this threshold, loosen the lock nut and tighten the stop bolt to ensure the travel stays within the specified limit. Tighten the lock nut to secure the adjustment.

Step 3:
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the left-hand (LH) brake pedal.
