Bleeding the Fuel System
Follow these diligent procedures to bleed the fuel system effectively. Air presence in the fuel system can inhibit the functionality of the fuel injection pump.
Usage Recommendations
- Ensure the fuel oil level is sufficient in the fuel tank. Refuel if needed.
- Open the cock of the water separator to release trapped air.
- Loosen the air bleeding bolt on the water separator by turning it counter-clockwise 2-3 times using a screwdriver or spanner.
- Tighten the air bleeding bolt once fuel flows clear without bubbles.
- Engage the fuel priming pump or electromagnetic fuel feed pump to ensure proper fuel flow.
- For engines with an electromagnetic fuel feed pump, turn the starter switch to the “ON” position and maintain this for 10-15 seconds to operate the pump.
- For engines with a fuel filter mounting that includes a fuel priming pump, locate the priming pump on top of the filter mount and manually move it up and down to prime the system.
