Valve Clearance Adjustment Details
- Remove the exhaust pipe, muffler, and their brackets.
- Disconnect and remove the air cleaner assembly and its bracket.
- Detach the air supply connector and six cylinder head covers.
- Remove the plate and cap, then use tool F1 to turn the crankshaft in the normal direction until the timing pin enters the gear hole, aligning No.1 cylinder to the top dead center position.
- Adjust the valve clearance for the indicated valves as per the valve arrangement chart. Mark the crankshaft pulley and gear case for alignment, then remove the timing pin.
- Rotate the crankshaft one complete turn, align the pre-marked positions, and adjust the remaining indicated valves.
- For adjustment, loosen the locknut, insert feeler gauge F2 between the rocker lever and valve stem, and adjust the clearance. Tighten the locknut to 24 Nm (2.45 kgm) to secure the adjustment.
- Recheck valve clearance after securing each locknut.
