- Clean the crankpin and crankpin bearing.
- Place a strip of plastigauge at the center of the crankpin.
- Attach the connecting rod cap, tighten the screws to the specified torque, then remove the cap again.
- Measure the amount of flattening using a scale to determine the oil clearance.
- If the oil clearance exceeds the allowable limit, replace the crankpin bearing.
